These tulips were such a pick me up; best buy all week!

… told you they were random!

cooking and cleaning as procrastination

Posted in Uncategorized by jentsang on 03/29/2012

I have a care plan and a scholarship application both due Monday and a huge midterm on Tuesday, and all I am doing currently is looking at cute rabbit videos (a nice departure from my typical dog ones) on YouTube and thinking of recipes for my favorite made-it-myself tomato soup with a crusty grilled cheese for lunch tomorrow, and those freshly homemade chocolate chip cookies I’ve been wanting to make.

I’m drooling. I want to start right now. at 12:30am.

what He demands

“Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?”

And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.   On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.”

Matthew 22:36-40

Sometimes the simplest things are the hardest things to do.

waiting & trusting

Silence on this front mostly because I wrote a long post while in HK, and it’s now lost into internet oblivion. Then I lost all motivation for rewriting it and that is why.

No deep ruminations, other than I feel like I’ve been a hermit since Christmas. Some have taken offense to that, some just understand that it’s part of my routine of seeing people every once in a while, although it is more pronounced at this point.

Man, I am bad at keeping in touch.

I am also bad at writing consistently in my blog.

Well, here’s one down, many more to go.

first world problems

I am leaving for HK/Taiwan tomorrow morning, and I find I still struggle the most with packing.

She insists that her narratives are rich, her supporting cast colorful, and her typeface bold.

lived and learned this week

Posted in Uncategorized by jentsang on 12/03/2011

-My first patient to pass away on Monday. Granted, this happened shortly before my shift, but you never feel your mortality weigh more heavily on your soul than when you are facing an empty vessel…or touching one.

-In light of everything, the Gospel is of the utmost importance and the only hope, in recognition of mortality. Thank you, Jesus.

-After failing in inserting IVs multiple times in previous week, I got two successful IV insertions when it counted. (:

-Sweet small talks with friends. <3

-I ran into the one and only Gabe Bondoc in the park in San Mateo. He’s probably my favorite youtube singer… hello, velvet voice! There are benefits to living in small-world-suburbia. (I didn’t want to be droolingrabidfangirl, so I tried to play it cool.. but I really wanted his picture.)

-Early albeit last minute birthday date with A to kick off the weekend. A rare beautiful, warm December night in SF…minus the wind tunnels. Hogs Island, Embarcadero, Bi-rite, Twin Peaks. Low-key and fun. Just really thankful. (:

-Christmas Tea with Elyse Fitzpatrick as guest speaker today. Challenged in how much disbelief I really hold.

-A simple cup of good coffee is such a day maker for me.

love God, love people

I don’t want to be someone who spouts perfect theology, but is severe, harsh and judgmental towards others.

I would far rather be someone who lives and breathes redemption, salvation, unconditional love, rather than one who uses them as harsh standards to measure everyone else by.

It is far easier to gain knowledge of who God is than it is live it out as an example for others.

challenged.

midterm season over (:

Posted in Uncategorized by jentsang on 10/26/2011

…and I celebrated by:
-finally cleaning up my closet vomit/sorting laundry
-sewing a new circle scarf!
-finishing some odds & ends off my to-do list

-listening to mumford&sons on repeat (if you have not listened to them yet, you’re missing out! also, i was a little sad i missed them this weekend in  Mountain View)

-NOT studying.

Sounds like a great night to me. (:
